Celebrate the 20th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars construction playsets with this detailed reinterpretation of Boba Fett's classic Slave I starship. This iconic 75243 LEGO Star Wars vehicle is the most detailed version to date, with features such as a self-leveling cockpit seat and side wings, a carry handle for easy transport and trigger-fired spring-loaded shooters. This amazing LEGO Star Wars collectible construction toy, as featured in Star Wars: the Empire Strikes Back, also includes a closing rear hatch to store the Han Solo in Carbonite element and 4 LEGO Star Wars character minifigures; Boba Fett, Han Solo, Zuckuss, 4-LOM It also features a bonus Princess Leia minifigures and display stand with 20th Anniversary logo to mark this momentous milestone in the history of LEGO Star Wars construction toys. It is the perfect holiday gift for both adults and kids. Star Wars fans of all ages will love this collectible Empire Strikes Back model
The Lego Set 75243 is a rather solid build that truly shows how far Lego has come in set design. At the purchase price of $119.99 (roughly $0.12 a piece) the set features Slave 1 (the infamous bounty Hunter's starship) on top of Boba Fett, Han Solo, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM minifigures on top of the 20th Anniversary Leia and Han Solo in Carbonite. The ship itself is fun to play with, featuring an opening cockpit and a handle towards the rear of the ship to facilitate play, but frnakly I was a bit disappointed that the "ramp" depicted on the box is nothing more than a cap in the rear of the ship though. On top of that, the cockpit is the definition of simplistic, consisting of a seat and a tiny control panel. The set has twice the piece count of the most recent (non UCS) Ship, making it feel quite solid.... but I have to say that other than the different figures and bonus Leia this set doesn't really bring anything new to the table, considering there have been 5 other versions of this ship. Unless you are interested in the new minifigures or are a collector I'd just recommend buying one of the older ships (particularly set numbers 6209 and 8097) on eBay for around half of the price...
I had seen this set many times before, even on major sale but I always passed it up. Friday’s episode (of a certain show) sparked new interest and all of a sudden I had to have this set! I went looking for it— sold out everywhere, except Amazon had it New and in stock in “Frustration-Free packaging”. I quickly placed my order but then got curious— the other reviewers and their pictures had me so worried that I’d receive an open-box or damaged box. I almost canceled my order. It arrived today about a week earlier than expected— much to my surprise, it arrived in perfect, mint condition. Whew! There may have been others whose box was beat up in transit, but mine arrived perfectly intact. The cardboard outer box was direct from LEGO, so this fit the Lego-set box like a glove! I’m so relieved I have this set now! I may even buy another for my ‘unboxed’ collection— and resell it once other fans realize their misstep in passing this one up. This set will play well with my Razor Crest. Another beautifully designed Star Wars set that I can remind my kids with a friendly “Don’t touch that!” This is the way.
Pulled the trigger on this for my oldest son and I’m glad I did. One of the most unique LEGO builds we’ve ever done together. And that’s key. We had a great time putting it together and talking about it’s various parts. If you’re a star wars and LEGO fan at all, do yourself a favor and get this set now. You won’t regret it.
When all said and done, I was missing pieces for this build. Luckily, I could work around/hide the missing pieces, but I shouldn't have to do that. Over 1,000 piece Star Wars Lego Slave 1 Lego build and it's missing pieces. Disappointing! Spent several hours putting this together to add to my Star Wars Lego Collection and LEGO cannot even provide all the pieces. They inevitably always include extra pieces in each bag, all be it small pieces, but extra pieces none the less. I just put them in a Tupperware container to use in the future if need be. But, to have several small extra pieces and not enough correct pieces is unacceptable. But, in the end, that is the risk you take buying Legos.
For the price i should of bought several
Ordered item for my sons birthday last minute...thank god foe 1 day shipping!!! He loved the set. Everything with the set seems fine...haven’t had any complaints from my son (who will definitely tell you if something is off).
My wife got me this for my 29th birthday. It had been a long, long time since I’d built a new LEGO set, but once I got in the groove, I couldn’t stop. Took me around 4 hours total, but for less fanatical builders I would set aside 6-8 hours. I was very impressed with the structure and realism of this set. It is incredibly sturdy and features an intricate three-dimensional skeleton that uses a good number of “technic” pieces. This set now sits in my office, and unlike when I was a child, I have no urge to strip it for parts. A wonderful gift, and a true testament to LEGO’s ongoing engineering advancements.
